AUDIO: Leon McKenzie and Rob Steed discuss poor mental health in sport

Countless organisations are dedicated to improving the state of mental health in sport, which has shown a drastic decline in recent years.

Rob Steed, co-founder of Life After Professional Sport, founded the company along with professional footballer Robbie Simpson to help ease sportspeople into a future career after retiring, which could help prevent a feeling of helplessness and subsequent depression.

In an exclusive interview with Struggles After The Whistle, Rob shared his opinions on mental health in sport, and what LAPS can offer to improve the issue.

Leon McKenzie, ex-footballer and boxer turned mental health advocate, also spoke to us about his own battle against mental health.
